Tahini should be kept at ambient temperature. It is one of the rare foods that don't spoil. However tahini has a shelf life as well. The reason for this is that its oil and solid part separates.

Tahini is a natural product made 100% from sesame without using preservatives and additives. For this reason in time sedimentation will start at the bottom of the jar and oil part will be left on top.  Always mix well before using it.

Sesame is expressly not recommended for babies under 1 year old and children who have allergy history in their family. Sesame is highly dangerous for children with atopic dermatitis. 
 
Symptoms of sesame allergy; vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea, rash, itching, sneezing, occlusion, coughing, nasal discharge...
